ABOUT ME

Sarah has a deep love and passion for creating sacred spaces for people to drop the masks, come home to their bodies and connect to their most authentic, alive, free Selves, where the full spectrum of the human experience can be welcomed, expressed and loved. Over the past 4 years she has been sharing the medicine of Somatic Dance throughout NZ, at festivals such as NZ Spirit, Wellfest, Morph Festival and Resonate, as well as at private retreats, online and in-person group journeys, community dance events in Southland and with private 1:1 embodiment clients.

Sarah began her journey with Somatic Dance in 2021, completing Level 1 in Taranaki and has been back every year since, in both assisting and student roles and has since completed all three levels. Having previously left competitive sport and overcome body image struggles and restrictive eating, dance became a way to connect with her body (and Self) in a whole new way, discovering fluidity, softness, flow and strength, passion and drive could co-exist together. For Sarah, dance has supported an ongoing deepening Self connection, access to fullness of expression and ability to craft and facilitate potent spaces for others to explore their own inner landscape and self expression.

What are your specialties?

She brings nearly a decade of experience in supporting others to come home to the wisdom & magic of their bodies, weaving a variety of qualifications into her work, including, health, life & body image coaching, somatic parts work, cacao and breathwork facilitation, trauma & nervous system informed somatic educator for women training and 400+ hrs in somatic dance trainings. Alongside formal certifications, Sarah leads from her life experience and personal journey to create embodied, grounded, heart-led offerings.

Where do you teach in?

It is an absolute honour and joy to be part of the facilitation team for the Somatic Dance International, Level One training in New Zealand, as this important work continues to grow and expand.
